Bristlecone Size: 16x24 Donna Reid is a photojournalist based in Kings Beach, California Lake Tahoe. She has travelled the world extensively documenting peoples travels: A womens trek to the remote region of the Humla District of Nepal for the Bodhi Tree Foundation, a father/daughter duo traveling Chile and Argentina and a 21 day river trip on the Colorado plus so much more. After receiving her degree in Photojournalism from the University of Florida she had a short stint at the Miami Herald and the Zephyrhills News, but realized this avenue of documenting wasn't for her. That’s when she took to the road for the next 5 years documenting the world of Skydiving and B.A.S.E. jumping. She became one of the original members of the Cliff Jumpers of America Association and participated in many of the events associated with the sport of jumping. When her travels lead to Tahoe, she found her home of community and an active lifestyle. She loves snowboarding, skiing, hiking and mt. bike riding. In Tahoe, her niche as one of the few photojournalists in the area lead to being the most sought after photographer in the day of film for weddings. She also had a personal interest in documenting a childs’ first hours, 36 births later, her imagery speaks volumes for her clientele. After 15 years, both Donna and her husband John decided to hit the road to Alaska to document its beauty. Once back home, Peter Michael Winery came calling. Donna has provided imagery for their Journals to all their members since 2015. Those images have reached publications around the world. Donnas’ latest endeavor has been trekking in the Alps. First trek was a 105 miles stretch around Mt. Blanc and then the E5 through Germany, Austria and Italy. Recently getting a taste of hiking in the Dolomites, she looks forward to returning. If you never thought of the possibilities, think of Donna for your next trip. Let her do the documentation while you enjoy your vacation. If you are in the Tahoe area, planning a wedding, traveling with family and friends or expecting, Donna is the photographer for you when it comes to capturing those special moments. She has a gift in making you feel moved by her imagery. Learn More
