Cold Snap By Ellen Gust Size: 25x19 Contemporary artist Ellen Gust, works in pastel and acrylic. Her work focuses on the interaction of color & light, and how shadow affects form between structures, people or landscape catching the right mood that grabs the attention of the viewer to look deeper. She has exhibited her work in numerous galleries, juried art exhibits, and is currently represented at Gallery24 in Los Gatos, California and QD Gallery, Palo Alto, California In 2022, her work was awarded Best In Show by master pastellist, Michael Freeman of New Zealand, who said The body of work talks about the artist... This work (A Sense of Futility) grabbed my attention immediately and kept it. He said of the work that it was, masterful simplicity , bliss is more, minimum mark making, with a unique style... In 2020, here's what art judge Christine Ivers, a master pastelist with the Pastel Society of America, had to say about one of Ellen's award winning work, Red Suit. This impressionistic piece caught my eye immediately. With a flare of daring and the rim light that surrounds the figure I knew this was a wonderful painting.
