Bob By Janelle Marie Size: 48x60 A native of the Southwest, I found a home in the Sierras nearly 20 years ago. I am a freelance artist 31 years now painting a broad spectrum of subjects from landscape portraiture (both human and animal), sports, abstract, to outdoor paintings on plywood. A good portion of my abstract work can be seen in west coast businesses and homes as well as on the Big Island of Hawaii and throughout the United States. I often work with Interior designers and collectors to create custom concepts and very much enjoy the one on one exclusivity of private commissions. I produce originals only and specialize in creating one of a kind paintings for mountain and desert homes as well as commercial environments. Currently available in the Tahoe area is a wide variety of Horse paintings, Bears, Buffalo, Cattle and Cowgirls. For contemporary tastes, my abstracts have become quite popular... inspired by nature, organic in design. For information on new releases and showroom viewing, private commissions, consultations, or to see my portfolio, please call my personal representative, designer Ann Dee Zeilinger at her stores in Truckee California (530)536-5046. Blizzard By Ellen Gust 23 x 23 Contemporary artist Ellen Gust, works in pastel and acrylic. Her work focuses on the interaction of color & light, and how shadow affects form between structures, people or landscape catching the right mood that grabs the attention of the viewer to look deeper. She has exhibited her work in numerous galleries, juried art exhibits, and is currently represented at Gallery24 in Los Gatos, California and QD Gallery, Palo Alto, California In 2022, her work was awarded Best In Show by master pastellist, Michael Freeman of New Zealand, who said The body of work talks about the artist... This work (A Sense of Futility) grabbed my attention immediately and kept it. He said of the work that it was, masterful simplicity , bliss is more, minimum mark making, with a unique style... All of this artist's submissions were amazing. In 2020, here's what art judge Christine Ivers, a master pastelist with the Pastel Society of America, had to say about one of Ellen's award winning work, Red Suit. This impressionistic piece caught my eye immediately. With a flare of daring and the rim light that surrounds the figure I knew this was a wonderful painting. This artist was able to create a three dimensional form with so few strokes I was amazed. With only indications of sea, sand and sky through the use of pure color she drew me into this scene and story. With mark making at its best and composition to interest any viewer... Learn More
