Womans Spirit Painting Size: 24x19 Artist Bio: My name is Ray Bacasegua Valdez and I was born in Kingsville, Texas of nahua(mexico)/yaqui(yoeme) Native American ancestry and am a Tribal member of the Texas Band of Yaqui Indians. I am an artist located in Austin, TX, with a studio also in Reno, NV. showing my fine art paintings. I have been marketing my work in galleries throughout the United States for the past 20 years. I am also a muralist, with 20 murals in Nevada, the largest being approximately 4,000 square feet created for Truckee Meadows Water Authority. In addition to my own art, I am a Certified/Licensed Art Instructor in Nevada and have taught art for the past 20 years at the Middle and High School level. I am blessed to have the opportunity to affect many young lives through this visual media. My students learn drawing, painting, composition and art history in both 2 and 3 dimensional work. Many of these students have also been involved with me in creating public art throughout communities. I continue to stay active with my art, primarily in graffiti eradication by involving youth in the creation of public murals. I have a Degree of Associate of Arts in Business from Western International University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Public Administration from the University of Phoenix

Cold Snap By Ellen Gust Size: 25x19 Contemporary artist Ellen Gust, works in pastel and acrylic. Her work focuses on the interaction of color & light, and how shadow affects form between structures, people or landscape catching the right mood that grabs the attention of the viewer to look deeper. This impressionistic piece caught my eye immediately. With a flare of daring and the rim light that surrounds the figure I knew this was a wonderful painting. This artist was able to create a three dimensional form with so few strokes I was amazed. With only indications of sea, sand and sky through the use of pure color she drew me into this scene and story. With mark making at its best and composition to interest any viewer...
